The word wellbeing on a red VERCIDA branded background

Ofcom offers an informal and confidential peer support network for their colleagues who may be in need of a discrete, non-biased chat. Volunteers are at hand to chat with staff about any concerns or anxieties they may be suffering at work or at home.

Ofcom created this network as they are aware having someone impartial to talk to is a great way of getting back on track during trying times.

Studies show, as employees turn to mentors with in the network advice, they make fewer mistakes on the job. This can only serve to benefit both employer and employee. Overall, the service provided by the network helps employees to feel less isolated.

Katie Morrison, Listening Network volunteer and Career Ready mentor at Ofcom said, “There are some great networks to get involved in at Ofcom. I am part of the Listening Network - having someone to talk to can be a great way for colleagues to work through difficult issues and get back on track.  I’ve spoken to colleagues about a range of issues including work pressures and dealing with illness and bereavement. I am also one of the Career Ready mentors. This is a great way of developing your own skills whilst helping local students prepare for work or further study.”
