Network Rail listed amongst top employers for graduates...

The Sunday Telegraph, Guardian and Times newspapers have all listed Network Rail as a top employer for graduates and apprentices in their guides for 2015.

Network Rail features at number 76 in the Times’ Top 100 Graduate Employers 2015-2016, and comes in at number 73 in the Guardian’s Top 300, just ahead of Abercrombie & Fitch and Facebook.

Its Advanced Apprenticeship Scheme is among the top 50 chosen to feature in the Top Apprenticeship Careers List 2015, which was released on 11 October by the Telegraph and Square Peg Media.

Independently judged by industry experts and former apprentices, the Top Apprenticeship Careers List is distributed free to hundreds of schools as well as being printed in The Sunday Telegraph.

Network Rail also appears as a top 25 employer in the Rate My Apprenticeship Top 60 for 2015-2016, based on over 2,500 reviews posted by school leavers on the popular website.

The graduate scheme at Network Rail offers a choice of two programmes: engineering and business management. The entry-level scheme includes the opportunity to gain professional training and qualifications, as well as a breadth of work experience across disciplines – opening doors to a wide variety of career options.

Alternatively, school leavers can join Network Rail through its Advanced Apprenticeship Scheme – a three-year course offering education and on-the-job training.

Since the scheme started in 2005, it has given more than 2,000 apprentices the opportunity to pursue a range of career paths within the business, and a recent survey showed that apprentices on the scheme achieve personal milestones earlier than their friends.

Apprentices spend their first year living and learning at Europe's largest engineering training facility – MS Sultan, in Gosport, Hampshire – and the next two working from a depot local to home.

They will specialise in electrification and plant, overhead lines, signalling, telecoms, track or off track and receive expert training. Applications for the Advanced Apprenticeship Scheme are due to open in January 2016.
