Network Rail: Celebrating 100 Years of Votes for Women
Category: Gender Focus
Yesterday, women and girls from across the UK came together to celebrate 100 years of votes for women. Wearing either green, white or violet (the colours of the suffragette movement), members of Inspire (our gender equality employee Network) took part to represent Network Rail and show their support.
Inspire’s vice chair, Grace, shares what inspired her to be involved in the event.
“Voting rights for women has been key in starting the journey to gender equality and this is worth celebrating. As a member of the Inspire Leadership team, gender equality is something I am passionate about, so I wanted to be there. I am fortunate to not ever have been told that I couldn’t do something because I was a girl/woman, but not everyone has been this lucky. I marched for every single woman who has ever been held back because of her gender.”
