Women in Rail Awards 2018.
The Women in Rail Awards celebrate individuals and companies who have made a significant contribution to improving gender balance, diversity and inclusion within the UK rail industry in the last five years.
Network Rail chief executive Mark Carne and Anthea Hague, chair of Network Rail’s gender equality network Inspire, are both shortlisted for the Women in Rail Award.
In other award categories, both Rajinder Pryor and Nicola Benjamin from the Digital Railway Programme are in the running for Inspirational Woman of the Year, while Claire Volding, a local operations manager, is among those vying for the Rising Star of the Year Award.
Women in Rail was created to improve diversity in the UK rail industry through providing networking opportunities and support for all women within the sector, encouraging undertakings and stakeholders to adopt diversity as a business strategy and devising initiatives aimed at positioning rail as an attractive career choice for young people.
