It’s National Apprenticeship Week. Back In 1919, we decided which apprentice to hire by the flip of a coin… fast forward to today and, thankfully, apprenticeships at Aviva have changed quite significantly!
Over the last five years we’ve had over 600 apprentices across a wide range of roles including actuary, business analyst and software developer. And over 100 of these have been promoted since completing their apprenticeship which shows how apprenticeships can springboard a career.
The average age of our apprentices is actually 31. Our oldest apprentice was 68 when he first started his programme.
