Most Family Friendly and Flexible Employers of Britain 2017

The Top Employers for Working Families Award winners have been revealed.  

  • The award highlights family friendly and flexible workplaces in the UK 
  • The winners of this year are trying to embed greater flexibility for their entire workforce, and are also managing traditional and gendered ideas about work 
  • The winners reflect a wide range of sizes and sectors and showcase that flexibility is possible in any type of workplace 

The chief executive of Working Families, Sarah Jackson OBE, said that family friendly work environments and flexible working have become an integral part of British business more than ever. She further said that they have had record-breaking number of entries this year. This only goes to show that there have been some truly exciting approaches to the creation of agility in the workplace.  

Sarah Jackson extends her heartiest congratulations to the winners of the Top Employers for Working Families Award and said that they stand apart from the rest because they provide flexible workplaces that support the lives of their employees. She is excited to be working with them in order to make work work for families, people and the economy so that businesses can prosper and families can thrive.  

The annual Top Employers for Working Families Special Awards is in its 8th year and it has eleven categories across a wide range of work life practices and policies. Four brand new sector-specific awards were introduced this year to make it possible for companies to shine in the public, private and third sectors, as well as, a category for smaller employers.  

Lloyds Banking Group Bagged Two Awards This Year 

Lloyds Banking Group was the winner in the category ‘the best for flexible recruitment award’ because the company has been successful in extending its agile approach into the recruitment process. The bank has worked with managers and candidates to improve the advertising and hiring practices, as well as, enabling flexible workers to reach their maximum potential. The bank also won an award for the category ‘best large private sector employer award’. The firm puts flexible work at the heart of their business and lays emphasis on agile workers, parents and carers 

The judges also commendedtheCivil Service who has shown consistent leadership and innovation in flexible working and inclusion.
