Aaron joined the Delivery Authority a year ago as a Level 3 HR Support Apprentice.
As an apprentice, I have developed many skills that will help me in my career going forward. I am gaining a varied and in- depth knowledge of all areas of HR and am developing vital skills such as time management, organisation, independence and team work. I am being supported every step of the way to gain as much experience and knowledge as I can at this early stage of my HR career.
Muhammadou started a Digital Engineering Technician Apprenticeship just six months after completing sixth form and is already relishing the thought of a future on Major Projects.
My apprenticeship began six months after I finished sixth form, and each day has provided a new lesson. One of the skills I've learned is public speaking, from meetings to wider audiences - something I used to shy away from! My apprenticeship has enabled me to develop technical skills specific to this unique and fascinating project. I look forward to progressing my career and working on more major projects in the future.
Meet Eleanor, a shining example of the impact apprenticeships can have on professional development.
As a Business Support Officer at R&R now pursuing a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship, Eleanor highlights the invaluable blend of formal learning and on-the-job experience.
I am a Business Support Officer at R&R, having joined the Programme as an Office Assistant in 2022. After nine months at the Delivery Authority, I began a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship to formalise the learning I was already gaining in my day-to-day role. My apprenticeship has been invaluable in supporting my professional development and equipping me with new skills. Not to mention, speaking with and picking the brains of experts working on the Programme has been an instrumental part of my learning journey.
As we celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we’re proud to showcase the journey of our Finance Apprentice, Kieron.
Kieron embodies this year’s theme, “Skills for Life”. Kieron’s experience highlights the valuable and diverse skills gained through apprenticeships - skills that extend far beyond the conventional classroom and into the real world of finance and accounting.
My apprenticeship has given me a variety of life skills, from communicating in the right way in diverse environments to being able to analyse numerous data points in different forms. Becoming an apprentice has opened my eyes to a new world of untapped skills, and I can't wait to continue learning as I progress further in my accounting career.
