60 colleagues from Lloyds Banking Group have been riding for over 3 days, have covered 18,000 miles between them and have raised over £245,000 for our charity partner BBC Children in Need. A HUGE well done to all involved.
Meet some of the riders below:
I've had just 6 weeks to train!
Back in February I had the crazy idea to sign-up for the Tour de Pudsey. While I wasn't successful in February, I was notified with only 6 weeks left to train, that one of the riders had pulled out on the London team and I now had a chance to participate as one of the main riders. The decision was simple, it's a great cause and one where I was going to be able to challenge myself both mentally and physically. Having completed a few marathons in the past and dabbled in triathlons I thought why not! Although I have no doubt this will offer up some interesting new experiences that I really couldn't pass up. Every effort counts here, given the short amount of time to make a difference, but I plan to give it my all!
Push yourself harder.
29 year old amateur cyclist, who likes to think he's a professional. I first got into cycling, when I discovered Strava and the competitive side of my personality took over. Not only was I seeking personal improvements, I wanted to beat every other cyclist, particularly on segments local to me. I have chosen to take part in the Tour de Pudsey challenge, as it combines two things I'm very passionate about - cycling and helping others. Cycling the 300 miles is the easy part, fundraising my target of £2,500 is the challenge. You can make a difference to many children's lives, by donating generously.
It is a great privilege for me to be given this brilliant opportunity.
It is a great privilege for me to be given this brilliant opportunity to join the Tour de Pudsey team to support such a worthy charity and also stretch my cycling capabilities to the extreme. I have been enjoying road cycling for four years now and embarked on a number of challenges the biggest being 300 miles in 24 hours which is something I have tried once however never again. I also belong to my local cycling club, Boston Wheelers, which really helps keep me motivated and is always pushing me to ride harder. What I am looking forward to the most is definitely not the hills but the experience of being involved in raising as much money as possible from something I love doing....
