Lloyd's win MoD Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award
Category: Employer Focus
Our CEO John Neal, together with two colleagues who were former members of the British Armed Forces, Steven Pallett and Dom Sweny are honoured to be attending the MoD Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Awards Ceremony at Lancaster House in London this evening.
They'll be collecting our Award in the presence of HRH The Earl of Wessex and the Secretary of State for Defence Gavin Williamson, CBE MP. This Gold Award - the only one in 2018 for the insurance industry - recognises Lloyd’s leading role in the market supporting veterans; our role in supporting events such as our Remembrance ceremony last week; and the outstanding work that the Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund, one of the oldest military charities of its kind, does.
Over the past year we've hosted four Services leavers on placements, leading to three taking permanent roles, with two further individuals currently on placement. In addition, we've employed four veterans directly through the internal military network in a variety of roles across the Corporation, adding significant skills and diversity to our team. Lloyd’s is also proud to support the Reserve forces, providing ten days fully paid additional leave for training for the reservists who work at Lloyd’s.
