Lloyd’s Celebrate 3 Years of partnership with Clear Company

Specialist global insurance market, Lloyd’s, are celebrating three years of collaborative partnership with diversity consultancy, the Clear Company.

Lloyd’s has consistently affirmed its commitment to promoting best practise across the insurance industry since first outlining its intentions to create a more inclusive recruitment process, create effective pipelines of diverse talent and promote best practise in diversity and inclusion across the wider market.

A series of recommendations were put forward and implemented by the Clear Company to improve diversity and inclusion after an in-depth recruitment audit. Each stage of the audit was independently reviewed by an industry leading senior HR professional and a chartered occupational psychologist. One of the key features of this recommendation was a custom built recruitment selection workshop, which hiring managers operating within the Lloyd’s marketplace are required to attend. So far, 150 individuals have been accredited on this course.

The results highlighted a considerable increase in requests for reasonable adjustments in the recruitment process. This is something which Lloyd’s hopes to replicate within the insurance companies it works with by giving access to an industry specific Clear Talent Tool Kit for all managing agents. Hiring managers of member companies will also continue to have the option to attend recruitment selection workshops.

“The recommendations made by the Clear Company, have helped to eliminate bias within the recruitment process, and created tangible change in terms of diversity and inclusion. As a case in point, during our 2015 ‘emerging talent’ recruitment process, no reasonable adjustments were requested by candidates, just a year later over 100 requests were made by interviewees. In order to maintain this momentum, we’ve retained the Clear Company as trusted partners going forward.”
