Lloyds Banking Group has welcomed 6 new people into their Military Work Exposure Program. The program is 2 weeks long and is based in London. Matt Hubbard, executive sponsor for the program said “I’m proud to work at an organisation with ties to all communities in Britain, including those who serve and have served with our Armed Forces. As a former member of the Armed Forces I have seen first-hand how relevant those skills are for the business sector. I am extremely pleased to sponsor this scheme on behalf of Lloyds Banking Group.”
Two years ago Lloyds Banking Group joined a number of organisations in signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant with a commitment to two points:
No member of the Armed Forces community should face disadvantage in the provision of public and commercial services compared to any other citizen; and
In some circumstances special treatment may be appropriate, especially for the injured or bereaved.
Approximately 60,000 of Lloyds customers are active members in the Armed Forces, in addition to the Veterans and their own colleagues who are Reservists; the Group’s purpose of Helping Britain Prosper resonates strongly with these commitments. Activities are led by the Armed Forces Liaison Team, a pan-LBG team of like-minded colleagues interested in supporting those who serve, and have served in the Armed Forces, with the aim of fostering stronger relationships with this group, enabled through the Covenant.
Lloyds wants to work with talented individuals, and the skills they have developed from a career in the Forces can be synonymous with the skills and behaviours that offer a successful career within the Lloyds Banking Group.
This program is a unique opportunity created through Lloyds Military Network Program that will offer individuals currently serving in the Military valuable experience to support their transition to employment outside of the Armed Forces.
Across the two weeks you will be given the opportunity to get an insight into their customer facing operations and function support teams and you will also be introduced to the great work their colleagues do to support their vision of becoming the best bank for customers and their purpose of helping Britain prosper.
