Our values are really important to us and we’ve been working hard to embed them into our work, behaviour and decisions since we launched then in 2018. Feedback from staff and managers showed that there was more we could do to articulate how we expect our leaders to act in line with the values. So, after several workshops with staff about how they expect our leaders to act, some discussions with our leaders on their vision for a better IOPC, we have developed the Leadership Charter.
Our leaders are committing to:
The Charter launched on 16 September 2019 and we are asking all our leaders to sign up to it, so we can display their signatures proudly in our offices. The charter will underpin our new manager training (called Lead, Include, Perform) as well as our Aspiring Manager programme. We’ll also be introducing it into our performance and development reviews to check that leaders’ behaviours are aligned with it.
