KFC publish their Gender Pay Gap Report Ahead of Time

Neil Piper, Chief People Officer - KFC UK & Ireland talks about KFC's gender pay gap report and the steps they are taking to make KFC more inclusive.

We’ve reported and published  #genderpaygap ahead of time, it demonstrates progress, reporting a 0% median pay gap #equalpay and an improved mean pay gap of 4.4% significantly below the U.K. national average of 15.5% (ONS).

…however, no gap is good enough and reporting now also ensures we remain accountable to progress as we continue to drive representation broadly and specifically at our most senior levels in the organization in line with Yum! Brands #genderparity 2025 goal (recently accelerated from initial 2030 target)

Our latest set of action focuses on ‘time’ and on ‘flexibility’ as we emerge to a hybrid working experience and whilst beneficial for all, they specifically address some of the insights we gain from our female colleagues through our equity and inclusion listening program.

✔️ Increased Maternity, Adoption and Shared Parental leave provision to 6 months at full pay regardless of length of service.

✔️ Empowered a culture of flex and of trust enabling our Teams to start, stop and re-start work throughout the day in ways that enable balance to life, energy and impact.

✔️ Protect the start and end of days with no meeting blackouts pre-9am and post-5.30pm.

✔️ Finish up at 1pm every Friday (we call them Fry-YAY now) all year-round.

✔️ Beyond time for lunch we enable 60 mins a day of ‘Leave Me the Cluck Alone’ time; uniterupted time away from the screen for rest, exercise or to spend time with Family.

I’m proud to continue to see the impact our commitment and actions across equity, inclusion and belonging, driving transparency and fairness, removing bias from recruitment experiences, focussed talent pooling, bespoke designed L&D for female executives, mentorship, sponsorship & seat at the table engagement efforts are having as we remain committed to progress.

There’s no silver bullet to equity, only focus and accountability across multiple endeavours.
