The technology industry has a problem with women. There are not enough of them. The number of working women in technology is significantly lower than most other UK work sectors. Just 17% of those working in the industry in the UK are female.

Historically and even culturally, it's males who have been pushed to pursue science and technology jobs — but that's changing.

Girls are getting more encouragement to explore their interests in sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics. This is the beginning of bringing change, opening doors for women to explore technology careers.
