Meet RS Components Kieran Hall Environment, Health And Safety Coordinator
“During Kieran’s interview, there was something about him…he was quiet, but not arrogant, and we knew he would fit in well with the team,” said Nick, Environment, Health & Safety Manager (UK & Ireland), “he is a rare commodity and an absolute pleasure to have within the business.”.
Kieran’s relentless determination, hunger and passion to learn, and grow within Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) has made him a real asset to his team, and our wider business – especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, where he has taken on greater responsibilities including the management of the Lateral Flow testing site in Corby for 400+ warehouse staff.
“Kieran’s achievements have been instrumental in ensuring a Covid 19 secure workplace, nurturing his colleagues throughout difficult and worrying times,” commented James, Kieran’s manager, “it has been an absolute pleasure watching him grow and become such a valid member of the team. Great Job Kieran!”.
Before Christmas, Kieran helped support 120 Corby based employees return to the office as well as support in the training of eight team members at the Lateral Flow testing site.
“It’s defiantly been a learning curve and I’m glad I’ve helped people get through it. We are all in the same boat and we need to work as a team to get out of the pandemic,” Kieran shared.
As well as his invaluable expertise throughout the pandemic, Kieran was also acknowledged during the National Apprenticeship Week early this year as a 'most improved learner of the programme'.
His prize – a Star Learner Award and NUS discount card in recognition of his continued hard work.
“Kieran has made a great start in his career in EH&S and this award is testament to that. By developing our people now at the start of their careers helps us to get the right people, in the right place and with the right skill sets for the future. The apprentice programme has helped both Kieran, the business and I look forward to seeing more awards in the future,” shared John Barnacle-Bowd,
Vice President Global Environment, Health & Safety at Electrocomponents.
Despite all that he has accomplished in his time with us, Kieran continues to remain humble and excited about continuing his career with RS Components,“I’m looking forward to learning – I love to learn and want to continue learning new skills and trades in the hope that one day, I will get to where Nick is.”
