When you feel supported and safe in the workplace, you’re more likely to enjoy what you do. For us, creating and maintaining happy relationships benefits everyone. We attract and keep the best talent from all over the world by simply asking that you be yourself, and this is impacting us for the better. Here are some ways we’re making Capita a more diverse and inclusive organisation for all our employees.

Our policies are fully inclusive. Our benefits are for everyone and we’ve recently enhanced several of them, including the Real Living Wage, Life Assurance, maternity and shared paternity leave, adoption leave, a workplace pension and more. We’ve recently launched our Be Counted campaign which will help us understand our diverse workforce better and will help us continue to make positive changes to our policies in the future.

Consistent and ongoing training. We grow awareness of an inclusive workplace and ensure our employees are educated on LGBTQ+ issues.

We make allies. A key element of ensuring inclusivity for all is to engage those who don’t identify as LGBTQ+ and driving the message that diversity is to be celebrated in our organisation. Our LGBTQ+ network ‘Rainbow Alliance’ welcomes members from all backgrounds.

Senior support. We ensure our senior leaders show their support for all equality-related issues such as LGBTQ+ inclusion and regularly share updates around the organisation. We’ve also set goals to make sure action is taken.

Colleague support. Voluntary, employee-led groups such as the ‘Rainbow Alliance’ are designed to foster a diverse, inclusive workplace, identifying key values, engaging people across the business and promoting social events.

Supporting local communities. We provide information about and sponsor local events and groups, and invite speakers to share their experiences. This creates conversations and has strengthened the community’s voice.

We recognise and celebrate your success. We proudly show the world what you’re doing in the LGBTQ+ space. Every step you take helps advance acceptance of a more inclusive workplace.

We work together to create better outcomes and we’re always looking to improve. That’s where you come in. With an open mind and an imagination to see beyond the ordinary, you can shape our future by asking questions, exploring new ideas and challenging perceptions.
