The words Diversity and Inclusion

Inclusion month has been a great success across Legal & General. Thank you to everyone who took part in the various events we organised, and everyone who showed support.

Over the past few weeks, we have heard what inclusion means to you, joined together to discuss our culture, unconscious bias and the challenges and opportunities that difference brings for our business. We celebrated the diversity in our business with events and activities and encouraged conversations about inclusion, here are just a few: 

  • Rizzle Kicks event in Hove - Jordan Stephens of the pop duo Rizzle Kicks visited Hove to talk about inclusion and respecting others. Jordan shared stories from his childhood, his music and acting career and his time in Channel 4’s Celebrity Island. Find out more
  • In Cardiff an LGBT Ally training workshop addressed how allies can bring benefits to their LGBT colleagues and the organisation as well as being clear about their purpose and the actions they can take. One participant said “Thank you for leading such an informative and engaging session today. It was heartening to hear some really informed discourse coming from my colleagues and to listen to someone clearly unafraid of bringing nuanced ideas around privilege and advocacy into a corporate/professional environment.”
  • Multicultural food days in each location. what better way to celebrate than with food with Mediterranean, Asian, middle eastern and Caribbean themes.
  • ‘Breathing Space’ in our Coleman Street office where people could take time out to relax and re-energise.
  • Lunch and Learn sessions to discuss and debate issues of diversity and inclusion, including unconscious bias, disability and work life balance.
