Bhupinder tells how Thames Valley Police are seeking Asian women

Superintendent Bhupinder Rai took time out to talk to BBC Asian Network about her time working with Thames Valley Police. Bhupinder joined the police force 26 years ago. Coming from a traditional family she tells of the concerns surrounding a women of her background joining the police force.
Less than 1% of police officers in England and Wales are Asian women. This is something Bhupinder is hoping to change, what better way to do so then to bring her invaluable life experiences, background and culture to the table. She has been working with the National Superintendents Association to recruit more women from ethnic backgrounds.
