Ofsted have rated Children’s Social Care Services in Essex as Outstanding. This is fantastic news and huge congratulations to everyone involved.
If you are thinking of working in Children’s Social Care, considering your next career move or just starting out, why not come and join the Outstanding Children’s Social Care Services with us at Essex County Council.
Ofsted say the following makes us outstanding!
- Our Inspirational Senior Leaders, who are “unrelenting in their pursuit of excellence for children and have created a culture in which staff are valued, supported and encouraged to be creative in their practice in order to make a positive difference to children.”
- Our staff, who are highly skilled, efficient and provide a client centred care, they tailor “their work to children’s individual needs and their cultures, nationalities and any disabilities.”
- We pride ourselves on the creation of a skilled workforce and are recognised for ensuring that “families receive the right help at the right time”. We invest in our workforce and our “comprehensive training offer” was highlighted in the report. We were delighted to hear that our staff described how they enjoyed working with us and had high levels of morale and motivation.
- We invest not only in our teams but also in our services. Our investment in early help and preventative services was recognised as of “high quality” and improved children’s lives who could remain at home, safely.
- Collaboration is key to our success and our Strong Partnerships, with each other, our clients and outside partnerships are vital. Inspectors described our relationships with partners as “robust, mature relationships.” Collaboration with Essex Police to manage child exploitation concerns is just one of the many partnerships that we have.
- We want to be the best that we can be which is why we come up with new ways of working and drive innovative solutions to improve what we do. Just one of the ways this was illustrated within the report was via our electronic referral form for support or information requests. This innovative solution was easy-to-use and improved the speed of responses.
