Throughout May at the CPS we focused on the wellbeing of our people during People Month. Lots of activities have taken place across CPS offices and have focused each week on one of our five wellbeing themes; being active, connecting with others, giving, taking notice and carrying on learning.
During the first week of people month, activities taking place across CPS offices focused on the Be Active wellbeing theme. It's important to be active all year round; activities that took place such as deskercise sessions, yoga workshops and taking part in walking challenges were designed to enable staff to find an activity that they enjoyed.
The Connect theme was all about connecting with colleagues, friends and family. Across CPS areas many different activities took place including ‘Bake n Cake, Meet n Greet’ sessions, book swap events and team quizzes.
As part of Mental Health Awareness Week our activities were centered on the Take Notice wellbeing theme. We used this week as an opportunity to introduce our new Mental Health Allies who held drop in sessions across different CPS locations for staff. Other activities included mindfulness sessions, wellbeing workshops and exploring smarter working!
The Give wellbeing theme focused on giving time, skills and knowledge and doing something for somebody, during the week we raised awareness of our Volunteering policy linking in with National Volunteering Week. Charity bake sales, quizzes and workshops took place across CPS offices. The final wellbeing theme of Keep Learning concentrated on trying something new or rediscovering an old interest. Over the course of the week staff took part in career conversations, explored different ideas of how to best use their Individual Learning Accounts and had access to many different webinars.
People Month has been an opportunity for us all to focus on these themes and celebrate our people by looking at what motivates and engages us, and how we can develop.
