Here at Diversityjobs & The Big IDEA we recently conducted research to find out which of our clients is leading the charge in tackling the lack of black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) representation in the UK's workforce.
Currently over 60 million people live in the UK, with an estimated 18% identifying themselves from BAME origins. This in turn has created a demand for organisations to be more transparent in their recruitment of employees and their diverse attraction practices. Therefore we have decided to list for you the top 5 companies we have noticed are particularly focused on this BAME when maintaining and attracting new talent.
5. Brighton and Hove City Council
The council supports and encourages employees to join their BAME employee network group and the Black and Minority Ethnic Worker’s Forum, that offers development opportunities, creates support networks and increases awareness of BME cultures and issues.

Each year employees at EDF Energy celebrate and raise awareness of diversity and inclusion. EDF’S commitment to diversity and inclusion is underpinned by their various employee networks including their BAME network which won the prestigious Employee Network Award at the Race for Opportunity Awards in 2013.
At the top of our list is Lloyds Banking Group. Providers of a BAME employee network and proud sponsors of the Powerlist publication; profiling Britain’s 100 most influential black men and women across a range of industries, Lloyds strive to increase the ethnic diversity of their staff and guarantee their Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic colleagues feel included and able to reach their full potential.
