Diversity is here to stay

With many areas in today’s society being recognised, diversity is here to stay.

This then brings equal opportunities for everyone. This is the time of year that is hard for students as they receive their exam results. Some fair better than others. With the results in they then look for jobs in their chosen career, possibly finding that they aren’t experienced enough.

Some degrees have work placements, students have to find placements during that time.

Having a degree doesn’t always mean a job is guaranteed. That’s when it’s hard, with certificate in hand, they are then told, ‘No sorry we can’t offer you the job because you don’t have enough experience.”

It hurts, but it is a matter of picking ourselves up and trying again. We all have different abilities and prospective employers can see whether you fit the job description.

It is not discrimination, it’s whether we fit the profile. We all have different qualities we can bring to our chosen career.

I was reading how an impressive resumes are needed and how important it is to read up on the company, in this instance it was a hospital and to show you are the right candidate for the job.
