London—Dentons is delighted to announce that two of its UK lawyers, Nick Mott and Esther McDermott, have been named in the OUTstanding list for LGBT+ leaders in business, presented by the Financial Times.

Assistant general counsel and partner Nick Mott features in the OUTstanding 100 LGBT+ Executives category which recognises 100 senior role models who are helping to make the workplace a more welcoming place. Nick is a founder of both Dentons' UK and global LGBT+ networks, helped launch Dentons’ UK Trans* policies, is a founder-sponsor of the annual London School of Economics LGBT Moot, co-founded Out-on-the-Place (an LGBT business-networking group), and mentors two law firms on introducing LGBT-related programmes.

Senior associate Esther McDermott has been recognised in the category of OUTstanding 50 LGBT+ Future Leaders, which recognises 50 inspirational LGBT+ role models making a significant contribution to LGBT+ inclusion in their workplaces. She is co-chair and co-founder of Dentons’ UK LGBT+ network, a founding committee member of the Law Society’s LGBT division, helped set up Milton Keynes' inter-company LGBT network (RoundabOUT), has run sessions for law graduates on being LGBT+ in the legal industry, and was named a top-10 LGBT+ Corporate Rising Star at the British LGBT Awards 2017.

Since 2013, the OUTstanding lists have been celebrating those LGBT executives and allies who are both successful in their careers and who strive to create supportive workplaces for other LGBT people.

Jeremy Cohen, Dentons' CEO for the UK and Middle East, said, "We are delighted and extremely proud that Nick and Esther have received this prestigious recognition for the hard work and time they dedicate to being such inspiring role models. Their contributions help make Dentons a welcoming and inclusive workplace where all of our employees feel truly able to bring their full selves to work. We are constantly striving to ensure we offer equal opportunities for all and celebrating diversity both inside our organisation and out."

Suki Sandhu, Founder and CEO of INvolve, which created the OUTstanding list, said, "Our sixth OUTstanding list is our most international and diverse ever. It features executives representing 21 countries around the world – from Ghana to Germany and from India to Israel. We’re so proud to see so many senior and future leaders recognised as role models for their work driving cultural change and creating environments where everyone can succeed. Everyone – regardless of gender, sexuality or ethnicity – benefits from a level playing field where people feel able to bring their whole selves to work."
