DCH have been working with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) which provides resettlement services for those leaving the Royal Navy and Marines, the British Army, and the Royal Air Force.
As part of our partnership with the CTP, we are providing those preparing to leave the Armed Forces with invaluable work experience opportunities.
Ben Hewitt and Lee Mason have come through the CTP to take part in work placements here at DCH, which has been a real success.
Ben Hewitt, Career Transition Partnership Work Placement Participant said: “After serving in the Royal Navy as an engineer for 16 years it was time for me to make a change. It was great an opportunity came up in the DCH Repairs Gas team. This has enabled me to gain knowledge and experience whilst working alongside qualified gas engineers. My mentor Mark Malone has been second to none and has taught me a great deal, he is, without a doubt, a credit to this organisation. DCH have a great focus on customer satisfaction and it was nice to see a happy workforce.’’
Mark Malone, Heating Engineer said: “Ben has a real can-do attitude. He would be an asset to any organisation, especially to the DCH Gas team.’’
Lee Mason, Career Transition Partnership Work Placement Participant said: “I learnt a lot and felt part of the team with plenty of practical hands-on experience. I am grateful to DCH for allowing me to gain the experience required. The team I worked with have been professional and passed on a great deal of knowledge which has really helped me.''
Paul Collinge, Heating Manager said: “Having Lee and Ben as part of the Mechanical and Engineering team has been a beneficial experience for both parties, along with expert mentoring from our heating engineers, Kieran Rigby and Mark Malone. I am delighted that through our work placements they have passed their gas assessments”
We're committed to the CTP and are looking for further candidates to benefit from this excellent opportunity.
