Creating a better working environment

Having read an article by Monique Craig, I have to agree with some of the suggestions she has made for the workplace to be a better environment to work in.

A place of work needs to encourage employees to be their best and sometimes it needs a few innovative ideas in order to achieve this.

The idea of encouraging staff to eat healthily is a good one as processed food can sometimes cause sluggishness during the day. This is due to the additives in convenience foods, which can produce a negative effect in productivity.

The idea of having a dog in the workplace can produce good results. When somebody strokes a dog or it releases several hormones, serotonin, oxytocin and prolactin.

These can release happiness, stress and depression relief and an increased feeling of trust.

There are residential homes that have dogs come in once a week and go round to see the residents, this provides them with comfort as they stroke the dog.

This can be encouraged in a workplace. Having a dog will also increase peoples' exercise as it would need walking during the day. Then productivity will be increased in the workplace, as exercise reduces stress levels.

These are positive innovative ways to encourage a good working environment and helps individuals to be focused while they work.

Good communication between heads of department and the employee is also essential as it makes for a better working environment.

With larger companies there are gym facilities, employees are encouraged to use them as it is known that it will not  increase productivity, but also encourage a social side to work.
