Delivering justice: how far will it take you?

CPS Legal Trainee Scheme 2018 – Now open for applications

It is imperative the Crown Prosecution Service reflects the communities we serve. We are therefore committed to recruiting people from a wide range of different backgrounds and one of the ways in which we do this is with our Legal Trainee Scheme (LTS).

The LTS recruits those who are motivated by the delivery of justice and seeking to complete their training in becoming fully practicing solicitors and barristers.

This year’s LTS is now open for applications with 30 posts available. These exciting opportunities to help deliver justice include the chance to become a permanent Crown Prosecutor upon successful qualification and develop further still into senior and specialist roles.

Trainee posts will be based throughout England and Wales with specific locations to be confirmed at a later date. To be eligible to apply, candidates need at least a 2:2 level undergraduate degree and to have passed either the BPTC or the LPC in time to commence pupillage or training contract in November 2018.

The CPS recruits to the Civil Service principles of fairness, openness and merit, concerned with ability, motivation and potential rather than grades attained or attendance at a prestigious university. Our 2017 trainee intake completed their undergraduate degrees from 34 different universities.

We are proud of the multiple accreditations and awards we have won. More information on the broad range of inclusive features we offer our employees can be accessed on our VERCIDA profile page.
