Competition to win places on EqualEngineers Training Programme for underrepresented groups in engineering and technology

EqualEngineers will launch the Set for Success Training Programme next month and it is now launching a competition to give away two free places on the programme (each worth £3000).

The Set for Success programme is for people working in engineering and technology from underrepresented groups (women, LGBT+, BAME, disabled), or for individuals who are looking to build their confidence and increase resilience.

Through a series of impactful workshops, EqualEngineers will nurture the development of your leadership capabilities which will enable you to take the next step in your engineering career.

Topics include:

  • Perception & self-awareness

  • Understanding self & others

  • Managing stress & resilience exercises

  • Introduction to unconscious bias

  • Exploring difference & one’s own identity

  • Learn how to challenge stigma & lead with difference

  • Positive mental health & wellbeing

  • Inspirational speakers & role model case studies

  • Site tour (subject to confirmation)

  • Peer-mentoring programme

  • Online community hub

EqualEngineers will maintain an alumni-style group for maintaining contact between cohorts, and to build-up a community of professionals who can give back to future attendees.

EqualEngineers is giving away two places on the programme (each worth £3000). Put yourself forward, or send to someone you know to nominate themselves who you believe would benefit from the themes explored.

Dr Mark McBride-Wright, EqualEngineers founder says:

“I am delighted to be offering a training course which I believe will really help bring some cohesion to the training offerings available.

“Culture programmes promoting inclusion take time to become embedded in organisations, and in the interim existing employees can be left feeling disengaged.

“This programme puts the attendees at the heart of it, and will build a community of engineers from different organisations sharing their unique perspectives to cross-learn from one another.

“I’m confident we are steering engineering and technology to becoming truly inclusive industries.”

Successful applicants will be notified by 5pm on Friday 28th June 2019.

There are limited places remaining on the course for purchase.
