Capgemini’s policy to sponsor training, certification and conference attendance has helped me create opportunities for promotion and helped expand my industry presence. I’ve spoken at industry events such as Passenger Terminal Expo and at a British Computer Society event on airport passenger journey strategy and architecture.
Don is the Integration Architects capability lead within our Digital and Integration architects group. He has delivered Integration solutions to clients across government, telco, retail, manufacturing, CPG, air travel and more. Starting out as a developer and moving into design, architecture and management across his career, Integration strategy and governance is now a key interest.
How has your journey been with Capgemini?
I joined Capgemini in 2002 to work in integration – since then I’ve seen the industry evolve dramatically. At Capgemini, the breadth of projects across multiple clients and sectors has kept me at the forefront of this change. Supported by Capgemini’s policy to sponsor training, certification and conference attendance, I’ve had opportunities for promotion and the tools to steer my career to suit my ambitions and strengths. In recent years I’ve done a lot of work in the exciting air travel sector with airport technology innovation passenger processing projects.”
What are your interests outside of work?
I play double bass and like to do lots of walking – my partner and I walk most weekends. I also like to travel the open roads and visit the National Parks of the USA and have done 20+ road trips there over the past 25 years.
Why should others join the Capgemini Integration Architects team?
Integration is a very broad domain represented by multiple technology vendors, covering all market sectors and touching almost all aspects of IT implementation – in the Digital era, API enablement is critical for most of our customers and has driven demand even more strongly. This lends itself to a very diverse career where every project and client is different.
