Capgemini recognised in The Times Top 50 Employers for Women for the 6th year running

 

For the sixth year in a row, Capgemini UK has been recognised for their excellent work on gender equality and inclusion

 

Run by the charity Business in the Community – The Prince’s Responsible Business Network – the Times Top 50 Employers for Women is the UK’s most highly profiled and well-established listing of employers striving for gender equality in the workplace.

Recognising best practice for more than a decade, the incredibly competitive process identifies companies which make gender equality part of their business strategy and are trying to bring it to life at all levels. Organisations are assessed on a range of areas, including their approach to recruitment, family friendly policies and how they have championed gender equality in the context of the pandemic.

We congratulate the many employers who have maintained their efforts towards gender equality at this time, often introducing innovative policies to support their workforce during this period. This year’s application process for The Times Top 50 Employers for Women was the most competitive one we have seen in five years. Employers like Capgemini UK haven’t forgotten women at work and they are committed to making gender inequality a thing of the past.”

 

 

At Capgemini UK, we know that gender equality and inclusion are critical to our success. As we have moved into the second and third years of pandemic disruption, we kept a focus on our actions to progress inclusion and appreciating the values our people were demonstrating. In this context, and as we continue to embed our new hybrid ways of working, we continued our work:

• Establishing rituals for hybrid working – from informal to formal, one-to-one to team gatherings – ensuring these routines are established to reduce proximity bias.
• Investing in external expertise with Women on Boards: supporting 160 women with external training to develop their board leadership skills – to apply in and out of work, and support progression at Capgemini.
• Focusing on women’s health and support – we launched Peppy, an app providing personalised medical support for women at different stages, which has so far provided access to expert support to 270+ our colleagues, including webinar series, group chat, video calls with medical practitioners and a suite of other resources.
• Our [email protected] network continued to grow: chaired by one of our Vice Presidents and empowering our local communities to support each other, extend event invitations and celebrate individual and collective successes.
• Increasing support for different groups – communities connecting and supporting on baby loss, menopause, neurodiversity and young carers.
• Focusing on physical and mental wellbeing – providing support, fostering empowerment to work in a sustainable way; especially through Time4You – our series of virtual events on everything from, parenting, women’s health, fitness to favourite records, empowering people to take time out for themselves.
• Recruiting inclusively through actions such as balanced shortlists, advertising roles on diverse hiring job boards, updated hiring manager training.
• Keeping gender balance a focus when succession planning for leadership roles.
• Continuing our programme of targeted mentoring opportunities for women.
• Sharing the journeys and brilliant work of our female role models internally and externally.

It inspires, engages and challenges members and mobilises that collective strength as a force for good in society. Each year, Business in The Community invites companies with a presence in the UK to apply for The Times Top 50 Employers for Women by detailing what they are doing to work towards gender equality in their organisation. The list is selected by gender equality experts at Business in the Community through a competitive and robust application process. The list is published by The Times. It is unranked and in alphabetical order.
