Academic tutors are often expected to support students from diverse backgrounds, often with complex personal situations or difficulties. Did you know that Student Services offer specialised advice and guidance for the following groups?
• Mature students • Trans students • Commuting students • Students with no family support / coming from care • Student with caring responsibilities • Student parents
This session will include discussion of common barriers to success for these groups of students and the opportunities and support available at YSJ. This is particularly aimed at academic staff who are academic tutors however all staff are welcome.
