BME representatives on interview panels
New measures have been introduced in our recruitment process to ensure that interviews are fair for people from all backgrounds.
Interview panels for posts above Band 6 in the Trust must now include a BME representative, previously this only applied to Band 8A roles and above.
The Trust is working with Barnet Enfield and Haringey NHS Trust (BEH) to share BME representatives across both organisations to ensure a bigger pool of suitable panellists.
Further information will follow on how managers can meet the new interview requirements, as well as how BME staff can help by taking part on interviews.
In another move to improve BME representation amongst our senior staff, we will be working with colleagues at BEH to promote our mentorship programme. We will identify and match more mentors with mentees, and offer training, so that we can develop the next generation of BME managers and senior clinicians.
