Aviva Raises Awareness of Plastic Pollution

We want to raise awareness of plastic pollution, so recently ran a volunteering day to clear plastic from the Thames with Thames 21 – we used the plastic bottles and bottle caps we found along with milk cartons, plastic cups and rubber ducks to make our turtle Shelley, who is currently travelling across the UK to encourage our people make the pledge to help end plastic pollution.
At Aviva we have recently switched from disposable plastic cutlery to biodegradable alternatives in our on-site cafes and our colleagues now get 20p off hot drinks every time they use a Keep Cup. Last month these were used over 11,000 times, and form just a part of our pledge to reduce plastic pollution.
