Atkins: Its official, we’ve caught the baking bug!
Category: Industry News, Competition, Support, creativity, insideatkins
We, like many others joined the nation and took part in our very own #Insideatkins Great British Bake off this year.
Our team of wanna be bakers or otherwise known as ‘#Brummiebakers’ embraced the challenge to put our baking skills to the ultimate test, all in the effort to raise as much money as we can for charity.
With 6 weeks of head to head bakes and Star Bakers, we saw some epic baking; completely thinking outside of the box and in some cases completely taken from the box!
Our wonderful team of non-bakers also supported us by taking the crucial taste test, marking the bakes and contributing to our charity pot. The bake off pictures also made their way across Instagram and Twitter which was just the icing on the cake, this helped spread the word giving a sneak peek into our team culture.
So with 12 bakes down and 6 Star Bakers, it was all building up to the grand finale. I must say at this point the competition was heating up! The final showstoppers really pushed our skills to the limit, but with a dash of team work and a pinch of creativity we were able to create the perfect recipe for our #Insideatkins #Brummiebakers Halloween Final.
We managed to raise an awesome £200 for our chose charities St Mary’s Hospice and Cancer Research, and voted for by the team, I was crowned #Brummiebaker 2016. I had some great competition and this just goes to show what we can achieve with a simple idea for a good cause amongst a team of amazing colleagues and friends!
Now… let’s bring on Christmas #Insideatkins
