Two Atkins engineers have been named as part of the first 50 Top Women in Engineering list, compiled by the Daily Telegraph and the Women’s Engineering Society (WES).
Katherine Ward, group head of offshore wind in Atkins’ renewables business, and Vicky Stewart, associate acoustic consultant and national STEM coordinator in Atkins’ infrastructure division were amongst the women named as the country’s top engineering talent.
From over 800 nominations, 50 talented engineers were selected for the list from a broad range of engineering disciplines, and from companies as diverse as The Geological Society, the BBC, Scottish Water, Crossrail and Expedia.
The campaign, which has been created by the Daily Telegraph in collaboration with the WES, the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Prospect Union, Matchtech, Engineering Employers’ Federation (EEF) and Harvey Nash, to recognise the achievements of influential women in the engineering industry for the first time.
