ATEC London 2017 conference details announced

ATEC London 2017 conference details announced

The ATEC (Assistive Technology Exhibition and Conference) organisers are pleased to announce that tickets are now available for ATEC London 2017, which will take place in June.

On the back of two very successful ATEC conferences in Oxford and Sheffield last year, ATEC London 2017 will again showcase excellence in assistive technology that removes barriers to work, learning and living.

ATEC London 2017 is a one-day event that allows disability professionals involved in the workplace and post-16 education to listen to and network with experts, solution providers and meet other likeminded delegates.

The conference, which is sponsored by Barclays, will offer an excellent opportunity to keep up-to-date with emerging assistive technology products, trends and innovations.

Employers are becoming increasingly aware of how assistive technology can promote wellbeing and inclusion in the workplace, whilst improving performance.

It can enable disabled employees to work effectively and increase productivity, as well as helping to reduce stress by empowering disabled people and removing barriers to work.

Over 150 people are expected to attend ATEC London 2017. The programme combines high-quality keynote speakers, seminars, exhibitions and networking opportunities, with delegates from business, government, education, not-for-profit organisations and charities expected to attend.

The keynote speakers are Penny Mordaunt MP, Minister of State for Disabled People, Health & Work, and Molly Watt, Ambassador and Advocate of Molly Watt Trust and Sense.

There are 16 seminars for delegates to choose from, with an emphasis on CPD and an exhibition where delegates can meet and network with over 25 assistive technology providers.

RemployBusiness Disability Forum and Student Finance England are some of the organisations that will be running seminars.

The conference will conclude with a series of panel debates looking at assistive technology in education (sponsored by Microsoft), at work and in the home, which will give delegates the chance to delve deeper into the themes of the day and explore topical issues with a panel of experts from across the sector.

Antony Ruck, ATEC conference director and Chair of the British Assistive Technology Association, said:

“ATEC London 2017 will help disability and inclusion professionals involved in the workplace and post-16 education to learn all about new assistive technology product developments and emerging trends."

“As technology moves so fast, ATEC London 2017 is ideal to help people stay right up-to-date with what’s happening in the field of assistive technology and network with leading professionals."

“People who attend can get the latest assistive technology products from a large range of providers in their hands to have a play with."

“They can also meet the product developers face-to-face and discuss how their products operate in the workplace and how to get the best out of them."

He continued: “Early bird tickets are now available on the ATEC website so you can save fifteen per cent if you book before 7 April."

“Also, members of ADSHE, ASASA, British Assistive Technology Association, British Dyslexia Association, Business Disability Forum, IAC, NADP, NNAC and PurpleSpace receive an extra ten per cent discount, but all tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis – get yours now before we sell out.”

ATEC London 2017 runs on Tuesday, 6 June, 2017 at ILEC Conference Centre and IBIS London Earls Court, London.
