A day in the life of a Commission Notice Administrative Assistant in Vehicle Certification Agency Headquarters.
The Apprenticeship role will fall within our Commission Notice department; the department is responsible for processing Mutual Recognition Certificates.
Mutual Recognition is a procedure for vehicles being imported into the United Kingdom from other European Countries. Vehicles would need to obtain a Mutual Recognition certificate before registration to confirm the vehicle has been changed and is now compliant and suitable to be driven on United Kingdom roads.
Telephone Enquires (providing good customer service to the general public and vehicle manufacturers regarding Mutual Recognition procedure)
Recording of applications (entering Mutual Recognition applications into our database,updating through-out different stages of the application)
Checking applicant’s original documentation (responsible for checking the true validity of original European Certificates of Conformity, garage statements and invoices.)
Requesting additional documentation (advising the applicant that additional information is needed in order to complete their application, this must be in writing i.e. letter or email)
Issuing Mutual Recognition Certificates (completing an IAC template certificate, giving each certificate a unique approval number)
Scanning applications (preparing all original documents to be scanned and saved to our secure network drives so they can be returned to the applicant)
Recorded Special Delivery (preparing all completed Mutual Recognition applications being sent securely to applicants ,at the end of the day)
As the role develops there will be opportunity to become involved in other aspects of Commission Notice
