Write a five-year life plan. Having a five-year plan can really help you focus on your goals and where you want to end up. Don’t be afraid to write down everything you want to achieve. A big, seemingly unreachable goal can actually be managed in smaller, easier steps.

You can still use the student library and computer. If you have a passion for fondling library books and working in the quiet zone, some universities will let you use your library as an alumni.

Accept that there’s no shame in moving home to live with your parents. Most adults do it at some point and it’s a great way to save on living costs if you’re planning on taking up an internship.

Make sure you have a routine. If you haven’t left university with a job to go to, it can be easy to become a slave to daytime television and sleeping in. Having a routine will keep you organised and focused.

Use the graduate resources available to you. There are lots of companies actively looking for graduates just like you. Graduate fairs, free leadership conferences and company insight days are great ways to get one step closer to your dream job.
