Working Carers at Birmingham City Council

We are a group of colleagues from across the council who provide care for a family member or a friend. Our mission is to provide peer to peer support and help drive positive change in Birmingham City Council. We want to raise carer awareness throughout the organisation, and make sure that equity is applied across all directorates.

This network is for anyone who works for the council who can relate to the incredible demands, both physical and emotional, of being a carer/working carer. A carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who, due to illness, disability, a mental health problem, or an addiction, cannot cope without their support.

The BCC Working Carers Network gives us an opportunity to support each other by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes.
