Our LGBTQI+ and Trans Experiences Employee Resource Group is a forum to support LGBTQI+ colleagues and helps us sustain an inclusive and accepting environment at Brit where everyone can be themselves.
Pride 2023
During Pride Month, we’re proud to be celebrating the diversity within the LGBTQ+ community, acknowledging the progress that has been made towards greater equality, and reflecting on the work that remains to be done to ensure that every person is treated with respect and equality, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
We have a number of events planned to mark the month from the summer party with Diversity Role Models to sponsoring Whizz-Kidz’s Pride Morph, to marching in London Pride with Link: LGBTQ+ Insurance Network.
Thank you to our Rainbow Collective employee resource group for working hard to put this event series together, and to everyone at Brit who is working to create a more inclusive workplace and future.
LGBTQ+ History Month 2023
We’re thrilled to welcome Matt Mahmood-Ogston to Brit Insurance in March for an internal networking event to mark LGBTQ+ History Month. Matt is the founder of one of our chosen charity partners this year, The Naz and Matt Foundation, which was created to combat homophobia through education and empowerment within communities.
Our Employee Resource Group meets regularly to discuss topics and challenges and raise suggestions for change through to the Inclusion and Diversity Committee.
In 2021, we held a People Forum event with guest speakers which helped employees understand some of the challenges the LGBTQI+ and Trans communities face.
We have also participated in London Pride events, and partner with Link to help with our education in this space.
