Flexible Working at Jacobs

Jacobs recognises that, in addition to helping balance work and personal, flexible working increases morale, reduces absenteeism and improves the retention and performance of employees.

Flexible working may include one or more changes to a working arrangement. The most common types of flexible working are:

  • Regular flexible working (a change to weekly working hours or working pattern, e.g. from full-time to part-time)
  • Annualised hours contract (working a defined number of hours over a year with an estimated average weekly hour pattern)
  • Compressed hours (working full time hours over fewer days)
  • Homeworking in appropriate circumstances - occasionally (to respond to specific circumstances or to complete particular tasks) or regularly (on full or part-time basis)
  • Job sharing (two people share one job and split the hours between them)

We welcome employees to make requests for flexible working in accordance with our policy.
