Ethnic Celebrations at One Housing

Our internal comms team help to coordinate an annual events calendar where we include important festivals from different faiths. In the past this has included the below but we are led by our colleagues too on what they wqould like to celebrate.

• Eid / Ramadan – we wished everybody, and a presentation was uploaded on why Eid is celebrated. We were not able to have a Eid festival feast due to lockdown.
• Diwali – food (ladoos and samosas) / the story behind why Diwali is celebrated – some colleagues wore traditional dress to celebrate their culture with colleagues.
• Black History Month – We have had a series of informative blog posts and videos, focused on the Windrush generation and previously some colleagues have come to work in traditional attire.
