Parenting Network at DCMS

The Parenting Network is a departmental staff-led group of volunteers set up by parents to support those with parenting responsibilities across the department.

The Network Pregnancy and Maternity Group is a subgroup set up to help provide a supportive environment in DCMS for pregnant women, women seeking to become pregnant, and parents on and returning from parental leave. While part of the Parenting Network, it is focused primarily on the period before people become parents and into the period of maternity and parental leave.

The Parenting Network looks to:

• Empower those with parenting responsibilities by creating a space to explore issues relevant to parenting;
• Build a supportive community to exchange views, share good practices and information;
• Act as a support mechanism for the parenting community, providing advice and giving a collective voice on issues affecting parents;
• Deliver ongoing support to staff with parenting responsibility during the COVID-19 Pandemic; and
• Work closely with HR, other DCMS and OGDs Staff Networks.
