Graduate Programmes at Taylor Wimpey

Finishing your degree and looking for your next step? Not sure which direction to take and looking to gain experience? Here at Taylor Wimpey, we run a variety of graduate programmes. From our General Graduate scheme for those looking to gain a wide variety of experience, to our more role-specific schemes in Finance, IT & Strategic Land. We accept applications from people with varying backgrounds and experience.

We've turned the traditional graduate scheme on its head. You'll get the chance to work on high-profile and impactful projects, while gaining critical and international experience. General Graduate Programme

We welcome a broad range of people with varying qualifications and experiences, so it doesn’t matter what you chose to study at university. We have a number of roles, each requiring a different set of skills which allows you to learn, grow and explore opportunities you may not otherwise have access too. The scheme is divided into four placements held at different Business Units across the country. Each department contributes to our success as a business and includes Land, Sales and Customer Services. You’ll also spend time in different regions increasing your breadth of experience. By the end of the scheme, you will have gained all the necessary skills to successfully move into your chosen role within Taylor Wimpy.

Finance Graduate Programme

As you’d expect, this is more focussed on you attaining your chosen financial qualification which we will support you financially to achieve. You’ll develop your skills and experience over three years with the longer-term goal of becoming a Regional Finance Director, if you have the ambition and drive to get there. You’ll be on the move quite a bit, spending time in many of our regional offices, as well as time in Head Office where you’ll learn about our Group Finance processes.

 

 

Strategic Land Graduate Programme

Our Strategic Land team look at buying large pieces of land that have significant development potential which is crucial in the running of our business. We run a Strategic Land Graduate programme for those with a RICS or RTPI degree qualification looking to advance their career in a company with ample opportunities. The programme will offer you an in-depth view of our strategic land function and an introduction into other departments allowing you to develop an understanding of our entire business and how strategic land is a valuable department.

The scheme will also offer graduates a strong commercial grounding and an introduction to house building, as well as the opportunity to complete their RICS or RTPI accreditation under the guidance of our industry experts. We will fund your qualification and give you time off if required for study.

IT Graduate Scheme

The IT Graduate Scheme aims to provide the successful applicant with a strong knowledge of the business and an introduction to Information Technology within a FTSE 100 company. The IT Graduate Programme (ITGP) runs for a period of two years and will entail shadowing colleagues, problem-solving day-to-day IT issues and working closely with our other 23 Business Units. The graduate will also gain professional development through attending internal and external training programmes such as IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Managing Successful Programmes (MSP).
