Join our Team as a Corporate Commodity Engineer (f/m/d) for Standard Semiconductors, where you'll orchestrate technical expertise, resolve the commodity strategy, drive standardization and champion sustainability within the global supply chain!

Together we will shape the purchasing of tomorrow! These tasks await you:
  • Technical expert & coach: In this position you act as the technical expert and coach for a wide range of Standard Semiconductors (analog, discrete, opto and logic components and Timing Devices) within the SCM Pooled Direct organization.
  • Commodity strategy: In close cooperation with your commercial partners, the PuC Managers for Commodity Components and for Integrated Circuits, you resolve and drive the commodity strategy for your assigned material field with the dimensions of Cost and Value Engineering, (Supplier) Portfolio management, Innovation management, Supplier Quality Management and Sustainability.
  • Portfolio management: The standardization approach that you develop, implement and foster (related to raw materials, components, technology, base specifications) enables the structured selection of beneficial components from a rightsized supply base.
  • Sustainability: You work closely with the supplier network and internal cross-functional partners to actively support Siemens' sustainability goals.
  • Innovation management: You identify, and screen innovative ideas, proposals, solutions, and products offered by suppliers and evaluate the respective impact and usability for Siemens. Selected innovations which serve the innovation demand of your cross-functional partners will be developed, promoted, and implemented.
  • Cost & Value Engineering: You support the business by handling and implementing Cost and Value Engineering projects in cross functional collaboration, deriving efficiency measures from cost and price transparency.
  • Supplier portfolio management: Already in the early design phase you influence the selection of preferred suppliers and components and provide technical expertise and cost information. Additionally, you are responsible for the selection, introduction, development and phase-out of suppliers and you coordinate and drive pre-assessment and audit activities within your cross-functional team.
  • Supplier Quality management: Together with your cross-business team, you steer and execute the preventive Supplier Quality strategy which safeguards the conformance to valid and continuously improved requirements, improves supplier performance and mitigates supply chain risks.
  • Leadership and network building: You run and coordinate the global technology and quality networks and ensure exchange of information in adequate frequency.

What you need to make real what matters.
  • Completed university studies in the field of electrical engineering or industrial engineering and management or comparable.
  • Longstanding professional experience in Supply Chain Management, product development, R&D and/or engineering functions.
  • Strategic innovative orientation, decision making, customer focus, aiming for results, building networks and partnerships.
  • You are a creative problem solver, able to think critically and analytically to overcome obstacles and find innovative solutions. This includes being able to analyze complex situations, find opportunities, and make data-driven decisions.
  • You are proficient in negotiation, presentation, and moderation methods.
  • Expertise in the manufacturing and usage of the respective products.
  • Expertise in project management, cost analysis and optimization and management of cross-functional and intercultural teams.
  • Previous international experience, intercultural adaptability, and experience in leading global teams are desirable.
  • Knowledge about preventive quality methods, QM systems and audit experience for electronic components and production processes.
  • Ideally you already have know-how of relevant procurement processes.
  • Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken, complete your profile.
