Supporting Armed Forces at Capita

We have a group for our internal Defence and Armed Forces community which currently has 1,700 members. It is a place for Reservists, ex-Service personnel, members of Force’s families and those working on Defence contracts to come together and connect. Members can ask questions, share experiences and support one another in a safe space.

Our commitment to the Armed Forces

We are a long-standing signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, which is a promise from the nation that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly. For us, that means we recognise the value that serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business, and will support the Armed Forces community.

What are we doing?

• Supporting employees who are members of the Voluntary Reserve Forces, offering up to 10 day’s of paid special leave each year for training commitments.
• Understanding that Service partners may need a degree of flexibility before/during and after partner’s deployment and looking at requests sympathetically.
• Providing guidance for both employees and managers on working while serving in the Volunteer Reserve Forces and the support needed.
• Ensuring we advertise appropriate roles on the Career Transition Partnership website and encouraging the employment of ex-Service Personnel wherever our operations may have a service focus or are close to a Ministry of Defence location.
