Domestic Abuse Support at the English Institute of Sport

The EIS has launched guidance for line managers and colleagues to support their employees and team members, who may be suffering from domestic abuse or violence.

Domestic abuse may happen behind closed doors but it has far-reaching consequences and often impacts on the working lives of those living with an abusive partner. For those suffering abuse at home, the work place is often a place of refuge and safety.

The EIS are working hard to foster a supportive workplace culture where employees feel able to talk openly about their experiences if they wish to.

The guidance outlines what support the individual can expect if they choose to disclose they are experiencing domestic abuse and the ways in which support can be provided for all employees (line managers, or colleagues) involved in supporting victims.
