Ethnic Minority Development Programmes at TransPennine Express

TPE are committed to making progress towards the organisation being truly representative of the communities we serve. Minority ethnic colleagues are under-represented in leadership roles and to support our commitment, we have two programmes for ethnically diverse colleagues who have career progression aspirations to support them in their career development. 

There are two development programmes, designed and delivered by an expert external supplier to which ethnically diverse colleagues can apply:

• REACH FORWARD

This programme aims to build the capabilities and confidence of colleagues who have experience of line management and have the aspiration to move into a ‘Head of’ or equivalent role within the next 1-2 years (examples include Driver Managers, Guards Managers, Station Managers, Production Managers).

• REACH UP

This programme aims to build the capabilities and confidence of colleagues who have the aspiration to move into their first people management role in the next 12-18 months eg Supervisory or Team Leader roles
