Sustainability at BBC Studios

Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at BBC Studios, both on and off screen. We are passionate about communicating the complexity of climate change and working together to help increase understanding of the challenges, inspire greener choices and ultimately protect people and our planet.

In April our world-leading Natural History Unit hosted a special event at Bridgewater House to bring together sustainability changemakers in business, science and creativity in a roundtable discussion. The session took a deep dive into the world of conservation storytelling, with a specific focus on land, regenerative agriculture, soil and healthy forests.

Headlined "Change from The Ground Up: Inspiring Audiences with stories of Regeneration", attendees discussed the challenges facing our forests and soil, the role of storytelling in communicating the unprecedented threats facing the natural world, and the importance of balancing hope with discomfort and truths.

Following an introduction from the Head of BBC Studios Natural History Unit, Jonny Keeling, speakers shared cross-sector learnings and insights, ideas on innovative solutions for impact, and how sectors can collaborate, learn, share, create and above all: inspire people to love and protect the planet.
