Accessible Facilities at UKAEA

We are continuously improving accessibility on our sites by making physical adjustments to existing buildings and ensuring that accessibility and inclusivity is incorporated into the design decisions of all new buildings (such as spaces for expressing for parents).  We provide assistive technology and implement reasonable adjustments to ensure that our staff have the tools that they need to excel in their roles.  We provide:

• Dragon software – speech to text technology
• Scanning pens to use on printed documentation
• Language pens for those for whom English is not their first language
• Reading rulers to reduce glare and improve focus
• Coloured page overlays which are a visual stress and dyslexia friendly resource
• Sensory aid materials to support focus and concentration
• Ergonomic keyboards/mice
• Footrests
• Rising desks
